Chad Wilcock Service Project

Good afternoon brethren, its been a while since I have posted, I wanted to update everyone with a service project we have going on. It is for Brother Chad Wilcock, we will be meeting at his house Saturday morning at 9am and probably most Saturdays in the future when the weather is nice.

We will be doing some construction work, so any carpentry skills would be helpful, however any skill level is invited and encouraged. Please remember that when we are in the service of our fellow man, we are serving our God.

Items needed: Saws, hammers, Squares, drills, screw drivers, and anything else you can think of that would be needed to build a house.

Sept. 22 Service Project – It’s Wood Cutting Time

How many Leavitts does it take to cut up and deliver a downed tree? Well, it turns out the answer is five – plus two missionaries and a few “adopted” Leavitts. Yesterday The Elder’s Quorum was able to get together and take care of a tree that had fallen on a member’s property, from a storm that came through a few weeks ago. The work started at around 9:30 am, with chain saws, splitting mauls, and a trailer to haul it with. Upon noticing the circumference of this tree our fearless leader decided to obtain a mechanical splitter, to help hurry along the work. Little did he know that some people don’t like waiting around that much. Before he got back the tree was cut, chopped, diced, split and loaded. Around noon the wood was dropped off to a needing member. The EQ Presidency would like to thank all those that were able to come out and help. If you need help with anything please contact anyone of us. All of our information is listed under the tab above.

Service Project – Sister Wilson needs a tree cut up

Sister Wilson needs a tree cut up, it fell during the last storms. The only thing if fell on was a fence around a small corral, no damage to any structures and is in a good place to cut up.

I checked it out and its a pretty big tree, we will need a few people, I know some of your have already volunteered, we can always use more.  We will also need a trailer.

One suggestion for some of the wood, is our upcoming Ward Activity.  We can burn some of it for the Weenie roast.  As always if you have any families that are in need of wood, please let me know so we can arrange to have it delivered.

As far as a time goes, its not a high priority, so I was thinking if people can show up and get some of it done this Saturday 9-15-12 at about 9 am that would great.  if you cant make it this Saturday we will also plan on the following Saturday.

They also have some extra branches in some surrounding trees that just need to be trimmed as they are laying very low to the ground, we can assess those if there is time.

Please contact your Elders Quorum Presidency if you have any questions.

Matt Hansen – Move

The move went well we got all of the Hansen’s stuff loaded in just under  2 hours, not bad considering we only had 4 people. They are now on their  way to St Louis.  Good luck with school Matt.
